About
Marie-Maxime joined Let There Be in the spring of 2020, fresh out of illustration school and just as the pandemic was turning everything upside down. A classmate who was leaving the company for another opportunity passed the job opening along to her. Looking back, she still feels pretty lucky that things worked out the way they did.
Since then, she’s watched Let There Be grow and change quite a bit. What started as a smaller team focused on healthcare video marketing has more than doubled in size, with people taking on more specialized roles and more complex projects along the way.
One project she remembers particularly fondly was also one of her first experiences as a lead artist. She got to shape the visual style, guide the flow of the story for Plan B’s ad-to-education campaign, and bring the characters to life through illustration and animation. It was a big step into art direction, and she’s still proud of how unique and lovely the final piece turned out.
Let There Be really pushed me to learn how to voice my opinion and make executive decisions on visual choices.

For Marie-Maxime, a big part of the fun is that there’s always something new to learn. Every project brings a different challenge, and she especially enjoys figuring out how to turn something complex into visuals that anyone can understand.
That curiosity follows her outside of work, too. When she’s not playing farm life sims, she’s usually picking up a new craft, whether it’s wood carving, sewing, or painting. It really just depends on what catches her interest that week.
